Papers about SCTP and Signaling Transport

Das Simple Control Transmission Protokoll
This german paper was published in "Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik", Vol. 6, 2000.
Performance Evaluation of the Stream Control Transmission Protocol
This english paper was published in "Joint IEEE ATM Workshop 2000", a conference held in Heidelberg, Germany, from June 26th to 29th, 2000.
SCTP - A multilink end-to-end protocol for IP-based networks
This english paper was published in AEÜ, International Journal of Electronics and Communications.
Loadsharing - A key to the reliability for SS7-networks
This paper was published in Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on the design of Reliable Communication Networks, DRCN 2000, Page 216-221, Munich 2000. It describes methods for loadsharing overcoming the usual SLS limitations.
Signaling transport over IP-based networks using IETF standards
This paper was published in Proceedings of the Third International Workshop on the design of Reliable Communication Networks, DRCN 2001, Page 168-174, Budapest 2001. It describes the usage of SIGTRAN adaptation layers.

Other sources and SIGTRAN related links

www.sctp.be
This is the website of Lode Coene which provides information about SCTP and an GPLed SUA implementation.
Open SS7
OpenSS7 is implementing a SS7 stack and some of the SIGTRAN protocols on Linux. As part of this work you can get a Linux kernel implementation of SCTP.
Wireshark
A graphical packet analyzer with SCTP support running under Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, and Windows. It supports all adaptation layers and a lot of SS7 protocols.
SIGTRAN
The charter of the Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN) working group (WG) of the IETF. There are also links to all internet draft accepted as working groups documents.
